The Tempe Play Structure blends tropical aesthetics, physical challenges, and imaginative elements into a cohesive, island-themed design. Children can ascend to the central hexagonal platform using the Pea Pod Climber, whose leaf-shaped footholds mimic an upward-growing plant, or the Figure Climber, designed with molded rock-like grips for a more rugged ascent. Once elevated, two Straight Slides extend in opposite directions, offering dual high-energy exits from the shaded deck beneath the towering Palm Tree Toppers. At ground level, the Bench Panel provides a resting space, while the Rain Wheel introduces a spinning sensory activity that mimics cascading water. Imaginative play is supported by the Ship’s Wheel, which encourages creative navigation, and the Gear Panel, which offers hands-on cause-and-effect interaction. Additional features extend the play experience beyond the main deck: the Pebble Step adds a balance-focused climb, the Bubble Panel offers a playful window to the surrounding playground, and motion-based equipment such as the Swinging Rings and Pull Up Bar invite upper-body strengthening and gymnastic-style challenges.
